I currently reside in Lisbon, Portugal.
I work as a bartender at 100 Bistro Maneiras.
The way I see my job it has two different sides to it, first I am a very good Bartender by beeing aware of my client needs, seeing their expressions, trying to figure out what they like and how I can provide them the best drinking and social experience I can. The social side of it, starts with a smile and a warm welcome, and the rest just flows. The drinking experience is the other side of my job, beeing a mixologist. I’m always looking for new information, either books or classes, looking for techniques and tools that can help me manipulating flavour, then i’m always the first one to arrive at my work place so i can try what i learned, before my shift starts. Mastering the knowledge we consume is important, so as a Bartender i know what Works with what and why, developing the ground rules of our drinks, bassicly i believe hard work can be better than talento, so i think what makes me stand out from the rest is the raw need of knowledge, and always work hard to be best I can be.
I didn’t join the contest for glory, i joined to learn, i have a passion for glass design, i collect glasses, and i pay attention to the function and the relation between the glass and drink, as a simbiosis, they should work together to provide the ultimate drinking experience. I am prepared to study outside the masterclasses that i eager to assist, i Will walk the extra mile so i can get out of this experience as a more complete professional, because that was my goal, when i signed up for this contest, to became a better professional Bartender by the end of this whole experience.
